Nigeria, Cameroon move to strengthen sporting ties

Abuja, Nov 12 (IANS): Nigeria's National Sports Commission (NSC) and the Cameroon sports ministry are taking steps to strengthen cooperation and improve sporting ties between the two countries.

Nigeria's NSC Director-General Gbenga Elegbeleye announced this Monday while declaring open a three-day inaugural meeting on sports cooperation between Nigeria and Cameroon, reports Xinhua.

The meeting, being held in Nigeria's capital Abuja, will end Nov 13.

Elegbeleye said it was a follow up to discussions between the Nigerian High Commission and Cameroon's minister of sports and physical education on the implementation of signed agreements between the two countries.

He charged those attending the meeting to work out modalities in areas such as sharing sports infrastructure and training facilities and joint presentation for international competitions like Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
