Bantwal, Apr 5: The sleuths of District Anti Narcotic Squad have arrested one person for supplying hemp to students near Vittal here on Tuesday April 4. 

The arrested has been identified as Aziz (40), son of Baba Saheb of Baddakatte near here.  He had been supplying hemp both to students as well as others in the area for quite long.  Though, the police had tried to nab him earlier, he had managed to escape owing to lack of evidence. 

However, on Tuesday he was arrested by the police while trying to sell hemp in the area.  The police have also seized 1.12 kg of hemp from him.  The value of the seized hemp is estimated at Rs 15, 110.

The case has now been handed over to Bantwal police for further investigation.
