Dubai, April 6: In a significant move to unite Mangalorean and Goan singers under one roof, Mangalore Konkans Dubai, known as one of the best organizers around, is planning to host a Konkani musical and entertainment event on May 12, 2006 in Shaikh Rashed Auditorium, Indian High School premises, Karama, Dubai. The show will start at 6.00pm.

Goan nightingle Lorna, along with well-known singer Ancet and keyboard player Norman, who plays the keyboard for Lorna's songs, will share the stage with Bollywood fame singer Reena D`Souza from Mumbai with Claud D`Souza from Mangalore and Rony D`Cunha from Kuwait.

Besides this music fest, there will be a comedy show by 'Me-Mo-Ri' - Melwyn, Moras and Richa - the Anjelore trio, who have made a big name in Mangalore, also having performed in Mumbai and the Gulf in the recent past.

West Breeze, a leading professional band led by Robert Vegas will direct the music for entire show and also play some great numbers.

"Mangalore Konkans are creating history and opening up a new way for artistes of both Goa and Mangalore. Uniting artistes from both places means, thus uniting the music lovers of both places under one roof. This could be a great initiative for upcoming events from various organizations," the spokesperson for Mangalore Konkans said while releasing the artistes' names to daijiworld.com.

"Lorna is a popualr singer for all ages and her popularity crosses all boundaries. When she performed in Mangalore a few months ago, she drew a huge number of Mangalorean music-lovers. Here too she is going to shine among both Mangalore and Goan audiences," said James Mendonca, president of Mangalore Konkans.

Shaikh Rashid auditorium is one of the finest places available in the UAE for musical and cultural events. The recent success of 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Middle East Muqabla' contest held in the same auditorium is an ample example for superb sound effect and convienent vision for the audience.

Incidentally, this is the first-ever Mangalorean event taking place in the high-profile Shaikh Rashid Auditorium

Tickets are priced at affordable prices in three classes Dhs 100, Dhs 50 and Dhs 30
