Beltangady, Apr 6: Christha Samanvaya Samithi (R), a charitable forum formed by the catholic laity of Madantyar parish, celebrated its third annual day on Sunday April 2.

The members of the forum gathered together at Shanthi Dhama Ashram at Anthil, Madanthyar, where they spent the whole day as one family.

Vincent Pinto, former vice-president, Christ the King Church, Manipal, presided over the programme.  Teresa Lobo, president, Beltangady Town Panchayat, was the chief guest. Both of them thanked and praised the service of the forum to the society.

On the occasion social worker Vivek Vincent Pais who has been working in the de-addiction project and the human resources officer of Dharmasthala Rural Development project, was honoured as the ‘Samanvaya Man of the Year’, by Vincent Pinto.

Teresa Lobo distributed the certificates to the students of Samanvaya Tailoring School. 

During the general body meeting, the annual report and the income and expenditure was presented by the office bearers.  Vincent Fernandes was elected as the new president, Rufina Rodrigues, secretary and Jerald Correa as the treasurer, for the year 2006 – 07.

 Maxim Carlo compered the programme, while J R D’Souza, president of the forum, proposed the vote of thanks.
