Mangalore, Apr 7: In collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Surya has launched an LPG Marine Kit to be used for running outboard engines of motor boats, replacing the existing means of fuel such as petrol, kerosene and diesel.

As per a press release, the kit will be advantageous to those involved in the fishing profession, as it has features like low consumption of oil, low wear and tear, low sound and engine vibration and it is also smokeless. It also does not require the existing engine to be replaced or altered.  The gas cylinder can also be used as a life-saving equipment in the event of a mishap.

Surya company has been allotted the sole dealership rights by the Indian Oil Corporation, and has already started manufacturing LPG tanks.  Gas pumps similar to petrol pumps will be shortly operational in Karnataka and Kerala.
