Car thieves land in police net


Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) Nov 16 (IANS): Uttar Pradesh Police have arrested three car thieves and recovered 15 vehicles, including luxury cars, from their possession, a senior police official said here Saturday.

Ghaziabad Senior Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Yadav said Indirapuram police, while on night patrol, questioned three men who were roaming about suspiciously near the Shiv temple, Shakti Khand, Indirapuram, Friday.

On interrogation, the three confessed that they would steal vehicles from in and around the towns of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana in the National Capital Region.

Police were able to recover vehicles from different places on questioning the three.

Of the 15 recovered vehicles, eight were jeeps and cars, including two Tata Safaris and one Honda City. Six motorcycles and one scooter were also recovered.
