NGO makes 250-kg cake in shape of toilet pot

New Delhi, Nov 17 (IANS): An NGO has created two big replica toilet pots -- one 16 feet in length made of moulded plywood and fibre and the other a massive 250-kg fruit cake -- to mark World Toilet Day Nov 19.

"The idea behind preparing these two type of toilet pots was to draw the attention of the society towards the importance of sanitation. They will be showcased at the FICCI auditorium on Tuesday (Nov 19)," said Bindeshwar Pathak, a sociologist and founder of Sulabh International social service organisation.

It took around four days to prepare the two replicas.

Around 500 children from 15 schools in Delhi along with a large number of liberated manual scavenger women will form a human chain around the pot replicas, said another member.
