Bangalore, Nov 17 (IANS): Gujarat walked away with three points from their first innings lead to Karnataka’s one as the Group A Ranji Trophy league match ended in a tame draw here Sunday.
Gujarat took a first innings lead of 104 after scoring 410 in reply to Karnataka’s 306 with Bhargav Merai’s making 142 (264b, 21x4).
In their second knock, Karnataka helped themselves to 245 for 5 in just 59 overs as Stuart Binny slammed a quick-fire 114 (99b, 11x4, 5x6) after opener Lokesh Rahul had made 47. Also amongst runs was Chidambaram Gautam (51, 113b, 9x4), but by then draw was the only possible outcome of the four-day game that was affected by rains and bad light Saturday.
Gujarat thus took their tally to 13 points from two matches while Karnataka inched to four after two outings.
