Mangalore, Apr 8: "Bharatshree - 2006", a two-day-long national level amateur body building championship was inaugurated at Town Hall here on Friday April 7 evening by state fishers, mujarayi and horticulture minister B Nagraj Shetty.

Guest of honour Ronald Colaco, a noted entrepreneur felicitated former Mr World Raymond D'Souza on the occasion.  Deputy Commissioner Dr H V Parshwanath, MLAs Abhayachandra Jain, Yogish Bhat, renowned orthopaedician Dr Shantram Shetty, local businessman Ravindra Maroli and NBF general secretary PSB Naidu were the chief guests of the programme.

Dakshina Kannada Amateur Body Building Association chairman Jairaj, convener Kishan Kumar was also present on the occasion.  Association president Ivan D'Souza welcomed the gathering.

More than 300 body builders from over 20 states are competing in the Bharat Uday, Bharat Kishor, Bharat Kumar, Bharat Kesari and Dakshina Bharatshree categories.
