Queenstown, Nov 18 (IANS): Loren Selleck, an adventurous 91-year-old Texan man, became the oldest 'zipper' here. He completed tourism company Ziptrek Ecotours' Moa four-line tour in Queenstown Sunday.
The adventure activity involves zipping from one point to another with a harness attached to a cable
Loren was accompanied by his 66-year-old daughter Karin Selleck. They were among eight other 'zippers’ to take part in the 'multi-generational' tour, which included children as young as eight and adults as old as Loren.
Of his experience, Loren said: "The guides are outstanding as is the lady in the sales office. At 91, I'm qualified to make statements like that about people," he laughed.
"It was fantastic. The entire journey, experience and atmosphere are very, very attractive."
Loren is the oldest ‘zipper’ to complete the Ziptrek Ecotours course since the company’s inception four years ago.
"It really shows the diversity of our tours. They're suitable for everyone, no matter their age or ability," said Nicky Busst, Ziptrek Ecotours sales and marketing manager, said in a statement.
“We’ve had people of all ages zipping in the past. Yesterday it was really great to see such a diverse group of people taking part in the one trip. It’s pretty phenomenal to see someone aged 91 living life to its fullest, embracing it and still creating memories,” Busst added.
