Two minor girls rescued in Delhi, man arrested

New Delhi, Nov 18 (IANS): Two minor girls were rescued from the clutches of a placement agency owner here. The accused has been arrested, police said Monday.

With the help of an NGO Bachpan Bachao Aandolan, Delhi Police rescued the girls -- aged between 12 and 13 -- Sunday afternoon from the house of Sanjay, a private placement agency owner in Sangam Vihar in south Delhi.

The accused was arrested for illegally running the placement agency that provides maid servants.

"Sanjay used to traffic minor girls from West Bengal with the help of his wife who also belongs to the same place. They used to beat the girls and keep them hungry whenever they protested," said a police officer.
