Mangalore: 'Anveeksha' symposium held at AIMIT

Mangalore, Nov 19: 'Anveeksha–2013' , the Symposium on Tech Start-Up: Opportunities & Challenges was held on November 15. The inauguration ceremony began at 9:30 am at the AIMIT Auditorium.

Dr Sushil Jathanna, director of Global Multispecialty Hospital, Mangalore, was the chief guest of the program. Fr Pradeep Sequiera , administrator, AIMIT presided over the function.

Dr Sushil Jathanna in his address spoke about Tom Monaham the founder of Dominos Pizza and about how he succeeded to make it the most popular fast food brand in the globe regardless of the hurdles that he faced in his life. He also stressed on the importance given by Tom Monaham, a Billionaire, who has dedicated his retired life in social work and charities. He encouraged the budding entrepreneurs to have a clear vision, mission and always be dedicated in their work. 

Fr Pradeep in his presidential address reminisced about his youth and the opportunities provided to him. Prof Ruben S, co-ordinator “Anveeksha – 2013” proposed the vote of thanks.

Prof Santhosh  Rebello welcomed the gathering and told about Mr Deepinder Goyal, the founder of Zomato

Pravilla Dimple was the MC for the ceremony. Nareen Koduvattat, founder and managing director, I-Point Solutions, Mangalore he spoke on Tech Start-up opportunities and Challenges. He gave tips on how to start up the company and stressed on the basics of Entrepreneurship and Enterprise. Issac Sikha, Counsellor, Mangalore advised on how to balance Personal Life and Professional Life.

The Panel discussion was conducted with John Fernandes, director, Speedex mentorship solutions, Praveen Prabhu, director, Foradian Technologies, Vipin, HR, Cognizant Technologies, Shammy Shiri, Associate Professor, Manipal University, Lester D’Souza, M D, Souza Hatcheries & Real Estates which was moderated by Prof Santhosh Rebello.

Praveen Kalbavi, MD & CEO, Novigo Solutions, spoke on “Opportunities in IT”. The one day symposium successfully wound up with the students highly charged and motivated to become future entrepreneur.
