Mangalore, Apr 9: A bus rammed into a rickshaw near Ganesh Mahal in Konaje on Saturday April 8 night, injuring four persons. One of them. fatally injured, died while being rushed to the hospital.

The dead person has been identified as Yogish (19) of Kavoor-Akash Bhavan. The other three injured are Ganesh (40), resident of Pandeshwar New Road, Ziad (20) and rickshaw driver Mohammed Kunhi (35) and they are all being treated in a private hospital in the city.

They were reportedly returning after setting up lighting arrangements for a function to be held in Mudipu on Sunday. After work, they were returning to Asaigoly on Mohammed Kunhi's rickshaw. The accident occurred on the turn towards the Mangalore University campus.

The speeding bus on route 51 is said to have hit the rickshaw. First reports said the bus driver was at breakneck speed, while some passengers said that it was the inexperienced cleaner who was driving the bus.  The report is yet to be confirmed by the police.
