Mysore, Apr 10: "The six employees of Zoo, who allegedly poisoned few animals to death will be dismissed from service," said the Minister for Environment and Forests C. Chennigappa addressing a press conference at Aranya Bhavan here on Sunday April 9.

"Three employees who had allegedly poisoned elephants to death have been dismissed from service already. The six other employees who are under suspension pending enquiry will be dealt sternly," he added.

Speaking to Star of Mysore over phone, Zoo Executive Director Manoj Kumar, however, clarified that no employee had been dismissed from service yesterday. Regarding the elephants deaths, three have been already dismissed. In connection with death of tigers, six employees are placed under suspension and departmental inquiry and CoD investigation are on. After the completion of inquiries, stern action will be taken against them, he added.
