Mangalore, Apr 11: Eminent Yakshagana artiste Kadaba Santhappa, has been chosen for this year’s Pathala Award, by the Pathala Yaksha Kala Prathisthana. This was announced at a press meet held here on Monday April 10, by Harikrishna Punaroor, president of the prathisthana.
The award would comprise a cash prize of Rs 5000 and a citation. The same will be given away on Friday April 14, at the Edneer Math at Kasargod near here by Keshavananda Bharathi Swamiji of the math.
Kadaba Santhappa has been conferred with the prestigious award, for his contribution to the field of Yakshagana for nearly 45 years. Santappa prominently acted the female role in Yakshaganas.
