Patna, Nov 22 (IANS): A case has been lodged against a Bihar official for allegedly sodomising a minor boy of a reform home in Purnea district and authorities have started investigating the case, officials said Friday.
Rajeshwari Pandey, additional district magistrate, allegedly sodomised a 14-year-old boy staying in a reform home. Pandey has been untraceable and on the run since after the case was lodged against him, police said.
"An FIR was registered against Pandey after being directed by the Juvenile Justice Board and investigation began in the case," Purnea Superintendent of Police Kim said.
She said that charges under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, were slapped against Pandey.
Earlier, the boy's father lodged a complaint with the board that Pandey sodomised his son at his official residence.
Manish Kumar Verma, Purnea district magistrate, said Pandey has been removed from his post and investigations were going on for the charges.
According to police, the boy was living in a juvenile justice home in Purnea district for the past two months. He was taken to Pandey's residence Nov 16, with the permission of the in-charge of the correction home.
The victim said that he was abused by Pandey for two days Nov 16-18.
