Madikeri: Family from Mangalore robbed at Sampaje

Madikeri, Nov 22: An attempt to rob a woman in the passenger seat of a car has been reported from Kallugundi at Sampaje grama.

The incident had occurred on Wednesday, November 20 night when Mangalore Alape resident Malini was returning after a trip to Madikeri. 

The robbers stopped their car at Kallugundi in Sampaje grama and tried to snatch the jewellery worn by Malini from her neck and ears. As a result Malini has been injured on the ears. Car driver Rajesh Roshan was also assaulted. The driver has been admitted to a hospital in Mangalore.

A police complaint has been registered against Sampaje grama panchayat member Cheriappa alias Appukunhi and his friends Balachandra and Durgaprasad.
