Mangalore, Apr 12: Ganesh Shenoy's exhibition of paintings "The Light of the World" on Jesus Christ has kicked up a lot of curiosity among the art lovers of the city.  The exhibition has been organized jointly been organized by Sandesha Foundation of culture and education and Milagres Church here.

Ganesh Shenoy being a Theosophist felt that it was his bounden duty to encourage the understanding of universality of all religions so that he may help to bring the universal brotherhood in the world. Theosophy stands for exploration of truth, which is higher than all religions. Aim of every religion is the same, that is to bring universal brotherhood amongst the mankind. The word ‘Religion’ etymologically has come from the Latin word ‘religare’ which means to unite and bind. However, nowadays people fail to understand this Noble Truth and instead have made it dogmatism and in its name fight and express violence. Almost all great teachers propagated only truth, through their own medium and the mode of expression though appears different from others, in essence being the same. No teacher has ever preached ‘A Religion’, on the contrary, they expressed only truth through RELIGION.

The members of each religion instead of living together in unity, for exploring the truth, have divided themselves and started living in isolation holding only the shell of the religion, unfortunately forgetting the kernel. If humanity has made a deep study of all existing religions in its true sense there won’t be any difference of opinion as to the basic principles and hence there will not be any room for violence or for separation from the whole.

It was only few months back, while contemplating on the Holy Book ‘The Secret Doctrine’ written by H P Blavatsky, Ganesh suddenly felt the necessity of bringing this truth to the world at large through whatever capacity he has. Starting on this line of thinking there came a revelation to him to focus the truth preached by the great world Teacher who gave his life to uphold this cause. He suffered for humanity, so that they may open their eyes to the need of living together without distinction of caste, creed, religion, sex or colour as one undivided family. This message which Jesus gave 2000 years back is still vibrating in the hearts of those who know ‘that love’ which he preached.

Through these paintings Ganesh tries to reveal to the hearts of humankind, the sacrifice, which this great ‘AVATAR’ has given to the world. The paintings run from his humble birth to the total sacrifice on the Cross.

The love incarnate God has given the necessary knowledge, wisdom to live, individually and collectively as a whole. He hopes that this exhibition will help all souls to understand the greatness of this Teacher and will make an attempt to know the universality of His teachings, which is nothing but LOVE in the highest sense.
