52 Delhi shops burgled in a night


New Delhi, Nov 25 (IANS): As many as 52 shops and offices of various private companies were burgled in the midnight of Sunday and Monday, police said.

A shop owner informed police about the incident that happened in the Shakarpur area of east Delhi.

Police said the three-storeyed Bhagwati Business Centre housed 80 shops and single-room offices.

"It seems more than 10 people were involved in the crime. They took away with laptops, LCD screens and other valuables from shops and offices. Cash over Rs.1 lakh was also stolen from the shops," said a police officer.

Police have questioned the security guard of the centre and also collected the CCTV footage installed outside the building.
