Jayalalithaa's conspiracy theory on power shortage inappropriate: Karunanidhi


Chennai, Nov 29 (IANS): DMK president M. Karunanidhi Friday termed as inappropriate Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's attributung the state's power shortage to a conspiracy theory as inappropriate.

Queried about Jayalalithaa's campaign speech for the Dec 4 Yercaud by-election, Karunanidhi said: "Its inappropriate speech for a chief minister."

Jayalalithaa Thursday said the power shortage is due to power plants under central government's control developing problems, within one week of her saying in the assembly the power situation in the state is improving.

Citing DMK's campaign that the state is reeling under power shortage within a week of her announcement in the assembly of the comfortable power situation, Jayalalithaa said: "People are wondering whether power shortage is due to conspiracy of the central government, under advice from DMK."
