Mangalore, Apr 18: The government’s decision to disburse the salaries of college teachers of the bifurcated PU section through the PU Education Board was denounced by the Federation of University and College Teachers’ Association in Karnataka (FUCTAK).

Stating this in a joint press release, FUCTAK president A M Narahari and general secretary Prof B S Makal demanded the restoration of the earlier system, failing which the federation would wage a protest. The decision is contrary to the government’s declaration in 2001 that the salaries of the teachers who were deputed to the PU section would be disbursed by the parent colleges.
