Mysore, Apr 18: JSS Mahavidyapeetha has established its Academy in Dubai. This follows the establishment of an engineering college in Mauritius by the Peetha in the academic year 2006-07.

The Dubai establishment has come up in association with Universal Knowledge Solutions, which is an Institute of e-learning in the Gulf region.

Those employed in Gulf countries and elsewhere, Indian families in particular, will get opportunities as a result of the expansion of JSS Mahavidyapeetha outside India, a spokesperson of the Peetha observed.

He said that the new Academy has been established at F52, Block 2-A, Knowledge Village, Dubai.

Chandra Mohan Bhandari, India's envoy to United Arab Emirates inaugurated the new Academy recently. Courses leading to M.Tech. Degree in Software Engineering are being offered from this academic year, he disclosed.

Karnataka Minister for Higher Education, D.H. Shankaramurthy launched the M.Tech course and also inaugurated the study centre of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) in Dubai.

Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, Head of Suttur Mutt graced the occasion.

The purpose of JSS Academy was to help those youngsters who had opted to work in different countries and deprived of the opportunities of higher education, said Prof. M.H. Dhananjaya, Director (Technical) of the Mahavidyapeetha.

The Academy offers higher education on e-learning mode in different professional and management studies, he added.
