BJP wants Telangana bill to be passed in winter session

New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) :  ''We demanded that Telangana and Lokpal Bill should be brought by the Government and passed in this session,'' Sushma Swaraj, the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, said in a tweet.

The BJP Monday called upon the UPA government to bring a bill for creation of Telangana in winter session and get it passed. The party also wants passage of Lokpal bill.

The Bharatiya Janata Party conveyed its views at an all-party meeting convened by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath Monday. Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Finance Minister P. Chidambaram were also present at the meeting.

The BJP leaders present at the meeting included L.K. Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Ravi Shankar Prasad. The winter session of parliament begins Dec 5.

"We demanded that Telangana and Lokpal Bill should be brought by the Government and passed in this session," Sushma Swaraj, the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha, said in a tweet.

The government is planning to bring a bill for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and creation of separate state of Telangana.

She said the party asked for discussion on internal security with special reference to bomb blasts in Patna in October.  The blasts occurred ahead of BJP rally addressed by its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi .

"We also asked for debate on atrocities against women and functioning of JPC on 2G spectrum," she said.

Sushma Swaraj said the party also wants discussion on  price rise and slowdown of economy.

We are seeing India the same in 2013 as we did in 1947. That means we wasted 65 years of our life.

Dear Anand if congress is divisive its because it BJP is helping it. There are no supporters for Congress if BJP had performed well, they were given a chance and it plain that everyone was sick of them even BJP members themselves Is there a third party that is worth supporting ? Sadly no. So congress rules for the next sixty years.
