1984 riots: SC dismisses Sajjan Kumar's plea

New Delhi, Dec 3 (IANS): The Supreme Court Tuesday declined a plea by Congress leader Sajjan Kumar for quashing the charges against him in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case.

An apex court bench headed by Justice A.K.Patnaik declined the appeal even as senior counsel Mukul Rohtagi told the court that Sajjan Kumar could not be charged under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code as there is no direct allegation of killing against him.

Opposing the plea, senior counsel Dushyant Dave, appearing for the riot victims, said that the rioting in the Sultanpuri area of the national capital was at Sajjan Kumar's behest.

Dave said that it was Sajjan Kumar who provoked and led the rioters following the assassination of then prime minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards.

a tale to 2 strange cases. here is a case, where court after court is finding this politician guilty and he keeps on approaching court to clear his name. his party is silent.

Another case, court gives not guilty verdict but opposition keeps on going to court and investigation agencies requesting to change the verdict. Height of hypocrisy

29 years after the Anti-Sikh riots the law has caught up with Sajjan Kumar.

This gives us reason to believe that the law will one day also catch up with Feku too !

Don't be over smart. As I said law is equal to all, hope & wish next number should be your Feku's for his involvement in Godhra incident as well as post Godhra riots which killed about 2000 innocents belonged to both communities.

At least Congi regretted for the 1984 massacre but Feku never ever did so..

Now tell me who is what...Every dog has a day...

    @for justice -

Gujarat HC verdict, 2011 was historic as 31 convicts were prosecuted for killing 59 Karsevaks.

SIT report by ex-CBI chief Raghavan submitted to SC gave clean-chit to Narendrabhai.

and you 'wish' Modi's number, lol.

    2000 innocents died? another lie.

In 2005, Union Minister Jaiswal (Congress) said in Parliament - 790 Muslims and 284 Hindus killed in the riots.

Gosh! look, how Phony-Secularists twist facts and figures to demonise our PM candidate...

It is not just Sajjan Kumar. There are many Congress leaders provoked the people in various parts of India not just in Delhi and looted the Sikh Merchants.

Sikhs need a fair apology from Congress leaders
