Seven policemen killed in Bihar Maoist attack

Patna, Dec 3 (IANS): At least seven policemen were killed Tuesday in an ambush by Maoists in Aurangabad district of Bihar, police said.

Additional Director General of Police (Operations) Amit Kumar said the incident took place near Tandwa police station.

Following the incident, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded the resignation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and claimed that the state government has a soft approach in dealing with the Maoist menace.

Meanwhile, another opposition party, the Rashtriya Janata Dal, has demanded removal of Director General of Police Abhayanand. The party said he is a failure as three policemen were killed in another Maoist attack on a train three days ago.
