350 juniors to participate in national tennis


Pune, Dec 3 (IANS): Approximately 350 juniors will lock horns in the All India Ranking (U-16) Championship series tennis tournament to be held at the Mayur Colony here from Dec 7.

The main draw matches will be played Dec 7-8 and the tournament has a total prize purse of Rs.1 lakh.

The series, in its seventh year, is the third tier of the All India Tennis Association’s (AITA) junior structure which follows National Series and Super Series. The winner of the singles title will gain 25 AITA points, runner-up 20 points and the semi-finalists will earn 15.

Pune’s Vaishali Shekatkar has been appointed the tournament referee.
