Asaram's son arrested in Surat sexual assault case

New Delhi, Dec 4  (PTI) Self-styled godman Asaram's son Narayan Sai, who had been evading arrest in a sexual assault case in Surat, has been nabbed by Crime Branch of Delhi Police.

"Narayan Sai has been arrested from Delhi-Haryana border. One of his aides Hanuman too has been arrested with him," Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav told PTI today.

Delhi Police sources said he had disguised himself as a Sikh man to evade arrest.
In Ahmedabad, state DGP Pramod Kumar said that Sai had been absconding for more than 50 days.

He had been giving a slip to police of several states since the last couple of months after a complaint of rape was filed by two sisters against him and his father Asaram at Jehangirpura police station in Surat, Gujarat.

A team of Gujarat police had landed in Delhi in mid-October and had carried out several raids at Asaram's ashrams at Rohini, Najafgarh, Jafarpur Kalan and on Ridge Road but failed to trace Narayan Sai.

Later, Dharmendra Pariyar alias Dharmesh (28), in-charge of the Ridge Road ashram, was arrested for allegedly helping Sai to flee the national capital.

Surat police had registered two complaints - one against Asaram and the other against Sai - of rape, sexual assault, illegal confinement and other charges.

The younger of the two sisters has filed the complaint against Sai, accusing him of repeated sexual assault between 2002 and 2005 when she was living at the Surat ashram.

The elder sister, in her complaint against Asaram, has accused him of repeated sexual assault between 1997 and 2006 during the time she was living at his ashram on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.

Asaram is in judicial custody in Jodhpur jail since his arrest in September for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor.

    He actually was helped by Gujarat to go via Madhya Pradesh\Uttar Pradesh to Haryana|delhi border where he was arrested.
    He knew, if he goes via Rajasthan he would be arrested on the Guj|Raj border itself by Rajasthan Police.

    After all he had support from BJP like Uma Bharathi and well known to Modi (He has so many cases in Gujarat) who had asked Rajnath and others not to support Asaram\son when Asaram was arrested and Uma Bharathi had objected his arrest.

    This is the state of affairs of Police in Gujarat!!! 50 days they could not find him\arrest him or were they entertaining him?!!!

    ...........and the Govt. decided to all the cases against Asaram, because he is too old to stand for the trial. Narain Sai left out because the prosecution failed to provide enough evidence.... All you people read this one day. These Father-Son duo have all the powers in their disposal.

    All this nonsense has been going on since long and it is high time the truth is brought out before the public!! Also, not to be forgotten the amount of land grabbed in various places worth 1000s of crores should be investigated and released from their clutches!!

    There could be many other such charlatans operating in gated precincts across all communities having a gala time and using money power and influence to suppress the truth!!

    Before writing any comments please read the article completely. In second paragraph only it is mentioned that this rapist has been arrested from Haryana - Delhi border (both these states are governed by congress party)

    Yes he was arrested from the states where congress is ruling, all the while he was in Gujrat safe and sound as soon as he stepped out of gujrat he was arrested,Police efficiency of Congress ruled states

    Mr. Alfred,
    To reach Haryana- Delhi border from Gujarat he should cross either Rajastan (congress rule) or Uttar Pradesh (SP rule). Government agencies of these states must have helped him to reach Haryana-Delhi border. Who knows?

    Woman is our mother, our sister, our wife and our daughter.

    Narayan Sai and his father were raping our innocent sisters and daughters for many years, as if they are their private property.

    They deserve to be stoned to death by those victim girls.
