Sullia, Apr 20: In another inhuman incident, a minor girl was raped by two persons at Arantodu near here. A complaint has been lodged in the Sullia police station in this regard.
The accused Gopal Naik (22), a tempo-rickshaw driver and his friend Chidanand said to have taken the girl to the nearby woods on an auto and raped her there. However, the locals who came to know that the girl had been taken to the woods went there to catch the accused. When they tried to flee the place, the locals chased them and were able to catch Gopal Naik, while Chidanand managed to escape.
Meanwhile, the girl who claimed that she had been raped has been referred for medical test. Gopal Naik has been produced before the Sullia court. The Sullia police are investigating the case.
