Second part of 'Mehrunisa' trilogy in Dec

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS): Author of action-thriller "Taj Conspiracy", Manreet Sodhi Someshwar is back with its sequel "The Hunt for Kohinoor" in which female protagonist Mehrunisa traverses a dangerous terrain to retrieve the Kohinoor diamond.

Published by Westland the book will be launched Dec 17.

The Iranian-Indian roots of Mehrunisa Khosa make her a stylish, agile and witty protagonist who is trained in Renaissance art and Mughal history. Her troubled past doesn't come in the way of her missions.

This time she would walk the snow-clad mountains in Kashmir to hunt for the Kohinoor and it will take her to the warrens of Peshawar in Pakistan. The twist comes when she is pitted against jihadis who are plotting a terror attack on India!

"Considering the ongoing gender debate in India, my female protagonist provides a strong positive role model for young women," said Someshwar, an IIM alumnus and author of "The Long Walk Home", in a statement.
