Top Companies Recruit Students from ICFAI

Mangalore: ICFAI National College has received great response for placements with more than 75 percent of the MBA batch 2004-06 passing out in May being given placements. Recruiters include top companies like Symphony, Reuters, Bajaj Allianz, Sharekhan, Propworld, TCL and many others, according to a press release from Prof K Narayan Bhat, principal of ICFAI.

Body-building Championship ‘Mr Janani 06’ on May 7

Mangalore: An undivided Dakshina Kannada district-level body building championship, Mr Janani 2006, organized by Kumpala Hindu Yuva Sene Vivekanand Shakhe and Karnataka State Body Building Association, will be held at Kumpala school premises on May 7. The event will have contests in 55, 60, 65, 70, 75 and 80 kg categories. Winners will receive cash prizes, medal, title and best poser award.

District in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty, Janani tours and resorts owner Jagadish Kotian, Body Building Association president B B Ravindranath Rai, K T Suvarna and Chandrahas Ullal are expected to be present for the occasion.

A folk dance competition, Gonchil-2006, will also be held as part of the event.

Statue of St Francis Xavier Installed at Xavier ITC

Mangalore: Xavier Industrial Training Centre at Asaigoli near Konaje launched a course in Stitch Craft and also opened the Xavier Counselling Centre and Xavier Placement Bureau.

The statue of St Francis Xavier was also inaugurated at the center to mark the occasion of the 500th birth anniversary of St Xavier.

Vijaykumar Prabhu provincial, Karnataka Province of the Society of Jesus blessed the ceremony. Stany Miranda, Frank Lobo, Sudhir Raj Kotian and J J V Fernandes were among those present.

SIO to Conduct Summer Camp
 
Mangalore: A summer camp will be organized for high school and college students by the local unit of Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO).

The camp, which will be conducted at the Hidayath Hall here from April 24 to 30, will consist of various programmes and activities like Quran studies, Hadees, panel discussions, personality development, computer studies, first aid and others.
