Mangalore, Dec 5: Mangalore Round Table 115 in association with the Mangalore Traffic Police had organized a 'Go Green' initiative called ‘Save Fuel'’ at Kadri Park on Sunday December 1 at 4 pm.

Around 12 members of the organization  were present and additional volunteers  managed to stop more than 1000 Vehicles and educate them with seven different ways of saving fuel.

This was followed by pasting of stickers on their vehicles. Chairman Dane D’Souza and Eco Convener Aajeeth Kumar were also present.

Mangalore Round Table 115 apart from other charitable activities, actively promotes 'Go Green' initiatives. In August distribution of 100 CFL were done at a Bikarnakatte government school in the presence of the local Corporator.

The next scheduled programme would be to educate the 10 Government Schools in Mangalore with  the subject ‘Go Green’Earlier this year in the month of September, in association with Jeeth Roache, MRT 115 planted more than 200 saplings in the Vamanjoor Dumpyard. Impact being , these saplings in future will act as a shield to protect the environment from the hazardous gases which emit from the dumpyard.

Round Table India  is a service organisation consisting of members in the age group of  18 to 40. It is a part of  Round table International and World Council of Service Clubs.
