Beltangady, Apr 21: Several persons including women were injured and a car was damaged by some miscreants at Guruvayankere near here on Thursday April 20 morning.

A group of 12-15 miscreants attacked on Abdul Rahiman while he was traveling in his Maruti Esteem car on Thursday morning.  The miscreants had come on a jeep, car and two motor bikes with wooden clubs and swords in their hands.

They damaged the car and robbed off Rs 4 lac in cash and 50 sovereigns of gold from those who were traveling in the car.  Later the miscreants attacked Ismail, Ramlan, Bifatumma, Asma, Sameema and others with swords and injured them.  The miscreants have been identified as Razak, Shahil, Farook, Hussein Isubu and Iqbal.  There were several others with them.

The same group attacked a shop owned by one Ahmed and damaged a coin booth, land phone and refrigerator before damaging the houses of Bifatumma and Abdul Rahiman.

The attack is said to be the result of a family dispute between the members of two groups.

The Beltangady police have registered a case in this regard.
