Udupi, Apr 22: The government had decided to initiate "Nirmal Gram" project in five villages of the district. Accordingly five villages, that is, Majoor, Belapu, Kumbhasi, Ambalpady and Hanglur will turned into 'model villages' in the coming two months under the 'Nirmal Gram' project.
This was announced by N T Abro, director of water and sanitation division of Rural Development and Panchayatraj department.
She also said that in the long run, all the villages in the state will be turned into model villages.
Prior to accepting the villages she had visited Majoor, Kumbhasi and Hanglur villages where people were found eager to initiate the project in their villages. "Accordingly all necessary trainings, awareness and other measures will be adopted in these villages," said N T Abro.
