Bantwal, Apr 22: The vandalism at BCI prayer hall at Bantaguri near Modankap here on Sunday April 16 has taken a new turn after Hindu organizations called for a sudden bundh at Bantwal and B C Road on Saturday April 22 protesting against the arrest of two of their leaders.

The sudden bundh call given by Hindu organizations has created confusion among the people.  While most of the shops and business concerns are closed down, transport system is not affected.  However, security has been beefed up to meet any unwanted situation.

The bundh call was given to protest against two leaders of Hindu organizations. Padmanabh Navoor and Srinivas alias Chinna were arrested by Bantwal police with regard to the attack on BCI prayer hall at Bantaguri on Sunday.  Hundreds of Hindu activists gathered in front of the Bantwal town police station and shouted slogans against the police.

On the other hand police sources said that the duo was arrested based on the information given by those who had been arrested on Thursday in connection with the same case.  Both Padmanabh and Srinivas were later produced before the court which remanded them for judicial custody up to May 2.
