Mangalore, Apr 22 [IST 11 pm] : A function called ‘Vojem’ (Head load offerings) - the first step towards the inaugural function of the new church at Paldane which will be named after Mother Teresa here, was held on Saturday, April 22.
The grand procession, which began on Saturday evening from Kulshekar church, culminated at the new church premises.
People with head load offerings grown from their own fields joined the procession. The grand procession was led by brass band.
As the procession reached the church premises, the parish priest Fr G W Vas welcomed everyone with his blessings.
Fr Victor D’Mello, Fr Alex Noronha, Richard Alvares, vice president, Sushil Noronha and Victor Vas, secretary were present on the occasion.
