Udupi, Apr 23: A total of 325 bio gas plans were installed in Udupi district recently. The inauguration of these units was held at Hebri on Saturday, April 22. These units were set up in association with Sri Kshetra Dharmastala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) and Katpady Vijaya Industries.
At the inaugural ceremony held at Hebri Model Primary School Auditorium, SDKRDP CEO L H Manjunath, after inaugurating the units, said that farmers need to make use of bio gas for domestic use and also utilize the manure to increase the fertility of the soil.
SKDRDP has taken up a project to set up 1,607 gobar gas plants at a cost of Rs 51.25 lac, he informed.
Udupi ZP vice president Sharada Bijoor presided over the programme. The programme was also attended by several Pragatibhandu self-help groups.
