Puttur, Apr 24: Killing of wild animals is an offence further selling products made from wild animals such as fur, skin etc is also punishable.
The Puttur rural police on Sunday, April 23 arrested leopard skin dealers at Galimukha of Nettanige Mudnoor Village here.

 

Based on credible information the police team led by PSI Sunil Naik conducted the operation at about 1 pm. A deal was being planned to sell the material to a prospective customer at Galimukha, when the cops arrested three persons involved.
Shankar K, Shivaraj and Esubu all belonging to Kasargod have been arrested and a case has been registered in this regard under Puttur rural police station under the Wild Life Protection Act1972 and 379 IPC.
