Kundapur, Apr 24: Though Anti Naxalite Force (ANF) has specially been established to keep a check on Naxalites’ activities, it wakes up from slumber only when Naxalites strike.

This is the same story this time around too.  The police and the ANF who were cooling their heels for long, are now on a intense combing operation following Naxalites' threat to Gurudat Chatra on Friday April 21 morning.

Naxalites have once again proved that they are still active in the interior parts of the taluk.  Their visit to Gurudat Chatra’s house along with members of Hasla tribes is also a clear indication that they have been able to gain the support of locals to certain extent.

Having come to know this well, ANF and police have intensified joint combing operation in the Basavanpalu, Kolkebail, Yedamoge and surrounding areas which are now recognized as the hide-outs of Naxalites.

Even the Kollur and Shankarnarayan police along with the special police force and ANF have started combing operations at Jadkal, Irige, Mudoor, Hamja, Yedamale, Jadkingadde and other areas coming under the jurisdiction of Shankarnarayan and Kollur police.
