Mangalore, Apr 24: The commuters on the city roads will have to bear with the potholed roads no more. Mangalore City Corporation has received sanction to begin work on a four-lane road running from Pumpwell to Hampankatta signal. The project will be undertaken by KUIDFC.

The work on the project will begin by June, with the foundation stone being laid at May-end or June first week, said mayor K Ashraf while speaking to reporters here.

The project is expected to cost around Rs 12 crore which will include the cost of lighting and footpath. The road from Pumpwell to Karavali circle will be asphalted by paver-finishing. From there to Jyoti, the surface will be of concrete which will continue on the left side till Hampankatta signal.
