Mangalore, Apr 25: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has invited applications for Business Awards for the year 2005.
All members of KCCI, including small, medium and mega trade and commerce industries are eligible to apply for the first ever business award constituted by the chamber in the present year.
The awards will be given at a ceremony to be held by the end of May.
Speaking to media on Monday, April 25, chamber president A Srinivas Rao said that the awards were constituted to provide encouragement to traders, industrialists and service sector units in the backdrop of liberalization, privatization and globalization policies of the government.
Only members of KCCI under the undivided DK district are eligible to apply for the award. A composite dealer in such category has to segregate the exclusive applicable turnover to participate in the respective discipline.
Contribution to the exchequer viz sales tax, central excise, income tax, contribution by way of employment like staff, workers, employee welfare, awards or special achievements, innovation in products and services, major customers, bankers, quality certifications, environment control, energy efficiency, social responsibility including donations, trust, social initiative, post or office bearers of social and religious institutions will also be the significant parameters.
Applications should reach KCCI within May 10.
