Udupi, Apr 26: A total of 538 delegates including seven foreign delegates from Pakistan, Malaysia, Iran and UK will participate in the international conference on Physical Education and Sports Sciences which will be held at Manipal on April 28 and 29. This was informed by MAHE vice chancellor Dr H S Ballal in a press meet here on Tuesday, April 25.

Arjun Awardee and popular hockey player Ashish Ballal will be the chief guest at the inaugural function to be held at Hotel Valley view at 6 pm.

A total of 177 scientific papers will be presented during the conference which will be organized by Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in collaboration with the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi and the National Association of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
 
Ballal said that as it is true of any scientific discipline, there has been a virtual explosion of knowledge in Sports Sciences.

There will be new disciplines like sports psychology and sports management that could be used to optimize individual and team performances and to analyze failures. There are specialists to handle sports injuries.

Javagal Srinath will be the chief guest at the valedictory of the conference.
