Mangalore, Apr 28: Manavata Vedike has organized a symposium on "Challenges for Secularism in Dakshina Kannada" on Sunday April 30 at 10.30 am. The symposium will be held at St Aloysius College Auditorium. Manavata Vedike will also celebrate its annual day on the same day.
The symposium will be inaugurated by noted thinker Prof G K Govind Rao while K Phaniraj will present a paper on the subject. Fr Francis Serrao will share his views on the paper later. The symposium will be presided over by Yashwant Maroli.
The symposium has been organized at a time when the district is facing serious threats to its secular fabric owing to various reasons.
