Mangalore, Apr 28: A couple travelling on scooter was robbed of Rs 83,000 near St Theresa's School at Bendur here on Thursday April 27 night.

Anil Kumar and his wife Geeta were returning home on scooter on Thursday night around 8.30 pm when 3 unidentified persons who came on a Maruti car, stopped them and threw chilli powder into their eyes. 

Thereafter they robbed them of Rs 32, 500, 400 pound sterling, 120 dollars and 120 dirham and fled the place.  The total value of the stolen currency is said to be Rs 83,000.

Anil Kumar owns a finance concern in the city and on Thursday he was on his way home after closing down his business concern.

The Kadri police have registered a case in this regard.
