Lisbon, Dec 21 (IANS): Benfica beat Vitoria de Setubal 2-0 in the 14th round of the Portuguese football league, thanks to goals from Rodrigo and Lima.
A stronger second-half display from Benfica was the difference between the two as both teams wasted many scoring opportunities in the first half Friday, reports Xinhua.
Spanish striker Rodrigo Machado opened the scoring in the 54th minute with a header, following a cross by Gaitan.
Lima made it 2-0 through a free kick in the 69th minute.
Benfica now are in second place in the league behind Porto, with 33 points, while Setubal are 11th with 16 points.
