Cuca to sign two Brazilians for Shandong Luneng

Rio de Janeiro, Dec 22 (IANS): Newly-signed Shandong Luneng coach Cuca has revealed plans to take two Atletico Mineiro footballers with him to the Chinese Super League club.

Defensive midfielder Pierre and playmaker Luan are front-runners to join their former manager next season, reports Xinhua.

"Luan has the confidence of Cuca becoming almost a 12th player for Atletico this season. Pierre has a longer relationship with the coach and was Cuca's first signing when he arrived at the club," said Brazilian football website Lancenet.

Earlier, Cuca confirmed he had spoken with Atletico officials about his plans to take players with him.

"I am going to take two players but we still have to decide on names," the 50-year-old said.

Cuca has agreed to a three-year deal with Shandong Luneng and posed for photos with club officials Saturday.
