Melbourne, May 3: Shane Warne on Tuesday scotched speculation that he might come out of his self-imposed retirement from one-dayers to play for Australia in the 2007 World Cup in the West Indies.
The spin wizard said that he does not nurture any desire to return to one-day international and his current form in Test cricket justified his decision to stay away from the shorter version of the game.
"I must have said it 14,000 times. I have retired and I have no aspirations to return. I have been out of the limited-overs team for three years and I have absolutely no desire to come back", he said.
"The team has done really well without me and I will be barracking for them in the World Cup, but not playing for them," Warne was quoted as saying in 'Herald Sun' today.
Warne said that he was being "misunderstood" by coach John Buchanan, who said that the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket was deliberating a return to one-day cricket.
Skipper Ricky Ponting followed it up by saying that Warne should make a decision quickly as the the World Cup was not far away but the leggie dismissed these suggesstions.
"What I was saying and I know people have been saying that I have been talking to Ricky Ponting, but in Bangladesh there was not much else to do but talk.
