Bantwal, May 3: The missing of Leena alias Mini Monteiro (23), wife of Shila Monteiro of Punacha near Vittal here has taken a new twist with Shila Monteiro filing a Habeas Corpus writ in the High Court to find his wife.
Shila, son of Daniel Monteiro had married Leena, a resident of Shirady 3 years ago. The couple lived a happy life and they did not have any problems, said the family sources.
However, Leena had suddenly gone missing on August 14, 2005. At first the family members searched for her in their relatives houses. But ultimately they filed a case with the Vittal police. Shila had also stated that she had taken 22 sovereigns of gold while leaving the house.
Some other sources has also said that Leena had written a note before leaving the house in which she had stated that she is leaving the house to live with the person with whom she was in love.
However, the police were unable to find her in the last 7 months. Frustrated by this Shila Monteiro finally lodged a Habeas Corpus writ in the High Court on April 24.
It is said that the court has given a week's time to Vittal police inspector Balachandra to find out Leena.
