Mangalore, May 3: Cyril D'Mello (55), a resident of Kotimura, Kulshekar near here was killed in a ghastly road accident between Panambur and Baikampady on Wednesday May 3 afternoon.
The initial reports said that Cyril was riding his two-wheeler and was on his way to the city when a jeep coming from the opposite direction knocked him down. As a result Cyril sustained serious injuries and was taken to A J Hospital immediately. However, he died on the way.
There was one more person riding pillion on Cyril's two-wheeler who has been seriously injured. He is identified as the watchman of the floor mill for which Cyril was working. He has been admitted to KMC Hospital here.
Cyril was working as electrician in Mangalore Rolling Floor Mill at Kulshekar. On Wednesday afternoon, he had gone to Baikampady to bring some material to the mill and was on his way back to Kulshekar when the accident took place.
Cyril is survived by wife Joyce and children Jacintha, Roshan, Rochelle and Jaison.
