Mangalore, May 5: District Superintendent of Police B Dayanand has suspended Bantwal rural police sub inspector Sudarshan and head constable Koragappa for delaying to book a case with regard to the rape on dalit woman on Thursday May 4.
A dalit woman was raped a couple days ago. In spite of knowing about the incident, the police had not booked a case against the accused. Though the woman had come to lodge complaint herself, head constable Koragappa had not registered the case.
Since PSI Sudarshan was out in Mandya at that time, head constable Korgappa was in-charge of the police station. However, the SP has now suspended both of them citing a lapse in duty.
