New Delhi, Jan 8 (IANS): German luxury automobile major Mercedes-Benz Wednesday launched its new S-Class luxury sedan priced at Rs.1.57 crore ex-Showroom Delhi.
According to the automobile manufacture, the launch signifies its new marketing strategy of introducing new products under its 'Year of Excellence' campaign.
This follows the last year's campaign of 'Year of Offensive' in which the company launched a slew of new offerings in the Indian market.
"The launch commences our 'Year of Excellence' in the Indian market. The new S-Class brings together luxury, design and technology that meet the highest standards of perfection," said Eberhard Kern, managing director and chief executive, Mercedes-Benz India.
According to the company, the new luxury sedan is powered by a 4.6 litre V8 engine which is mated to a seven speed automatic transmission. The sedan can accelerate from 0-100 km per hour in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km per hour.
The company said that it has already made allocation of 125 units in pre-bookings and has now opened fresh bookings for April 2014 deliveries.
Internally the vehicle comes with a slew of features such as "mobile office" which offers folding tables, individual entertainment systems, 12 V power sockets and wireless hot spot.
The vehicle also has an Android based smart phone touch application that controls car's massage functions, seat heating and multimedia.
